Clara Ford

Clara Ford lived and quilted in Crossett, Arkansas from December 12, 1892 until her death May 20, 1966. She was married to Rich Ford and had six children. Her children were Allen, Ray, Matthew, Emma, Evora and Ruth.

Although she made many quilts during her lifetime, only eight have survived her. All of her quilts were quilted by hand on the huge quilting frame that took up most of the space in her small home.  View them in the Clara Ford Gallery.

Her favorite color was probably red, as that color dominates many of her quilts. She has left a lasting legacy through her quilts.
