The quilts of two Atlanta quilters will be part of the World Quilt Show when it opens Thursday, November 10 in West Palm Beach, Florida. They are Nina Moore and Marva Swanson. The Georgia Quilt Show opens October 20, 2011 at the Gwinnett Center in Duluth. Show hours are 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. There will be quilts competing for prizes, lots of vendors and lots of classes. When all the votes were counted, Mary Maynard’s Rotation of Cross walked away with Best of Show at the 2011 Atlanta Quilt Festival exhibit which was held at the South Fulton Arts Center. She won a beautiful ribbon and a $50 prize. Mary says she was inspired by local quilt artist Regina Carter’s stained glass window. [...]

Aisha Lumumba’s quilt Antiquity took second place in the voting for Best of Show at the 2011 Atlanta Quilt Festival exhibit which was held at the South Fulton Arts Center.
