Sometimes the fabric dictates the quilt. Such is the case with the featured quilt in the July 4, 2010 edition of the Start Your Week With a Quilt newsletter. It is called Java Jive. It was created by Vanessa Brown.
Vanessa says she fell in love with the fabric called “Spill the Beans” designed by Cyndi Walker for Clothworks. She knew immediately she had to make a quilt that featured it.
To make her creation, Vanessa framed the “fussy cut” coffee cups by strips in pastel colors. These cups make up the center of the quilt. The quilt is then finished by two borders of coffee themed fabric making the quilt measure 42 x 55 inches.
Vanessa says, “she is enamored with flavored coffees, and Java Jive is a great tribute to them.”
I say, “if the coffee doesn’t get you excited about facing the day, this lovely quilt should.”

This quilt is beautiful! I especially like it because I am a collector of teapots. It ministers to my hobby. Please let me know if you should ever decide that you want to sell it.
