The featured quilt of the week in the Sptember 12, 2010 edition of the Start Your Week With a Quilt newsletter is called When a Man Loves a Woman, and it was created by Aleathia Chisolm. This quilt, along with approximately 50 other quilts and dolls, was part of the 2010 Atlanta Quilt Festival sponsored by the Clara Ford Foundation and Hammonds House Museum. Everyone who believes in true love stopped to admire it.
When a Man Loves a Woman is a small quilt that packs a powerful punch. It measures only 21 x 23 inches. The focus of the quilt is a man holding a woman appliqued on a pieced black and white background. The center block is surrounded by three borders which includes an eye-popping red one. The quilt was machine pieced and quilted by Aleathia.
