Beautiful Leaves

Beautiful Leaves by Charlotte Lindsey

This week our goal is to get you out of the house to experience nature’s most glorious time of the year. It is leaf season, and you should not miss it. If you just can’t get out of the house you can experience leaf season through  the featured quilt of the week in the October 17, 2010 edition of the Start Your Week With a Quilt is called Beautiful Leaves. It was created by Charlotte Lindsey.

Charlotte graciously loaned this quilt to the Bowden Senior Multi-Purpose Center in East Point as part of the Clara Ford Foundation Fall Tour of Quilts. Those seniors who are not able to get out to experience the live version of fall foliage will be able to experience Charlotte’s version.

Beautiful Leaves should be experienced slowly and up close. Charlotte carefully chose the fabric for each leaf making sure the full palette of nature’s glory is represented. The fabric choices can only be described as luscious.

Charlotte documented this quilt with a label that says: “Beautiful Leaves, a handiwork of God and a gift for all mankind.” Charlotte’s quilt is also a gift.
