The featured quilt of the week in the January 16, 2011 edition of the Start Your Week With a Quilt newsletter is called Behind Every Great Man. It was created by Anita Crosby.
Each year as we celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King’s birthday, I am drawn to this quilt. It is a quilt with a clear message that needs no explanation. With only two powerful images, Anita reminds us that whatever Dr. King’s many accomplishments, his wife Coretta was there supporting his efforts every step of the way.
See more of Anita’s work at the 2011 Atlanta Quilt Festival©, July 31, 2011 – August 13, 2011 at the South Fulton Arts Center, 4645 Butner Road, College Park, GA.
