The featured quilt of the week in the February 13, 2011 edition of the Start Your Week With a Quilt newsletter is called When a Man Loves a Woman. It was created by Aleathia Chisolm.
This quilt is my all time favorite Valentine’s Day quilt. Aleathia captures in this quilt what most ladies are looking for — a man who will cherish and adore them.
To create this quilt, Aleathia first pieced the black and white background from squares of different fabrics. She then appliquéd the man and woman on top. The loving couple is framed by three borders.
See more of Aleathia’s work at the 2011 Atlanta Quilt Festival which will be held July 31, – August 13, 2011 at the South Fulton Arts Center, 4645 Butner Road, College Park, GA.
