The featured quilt in the March 27, 2011 edition of the Start Your Week With a Quilt newsletter is called White Blossom. It was created by Marquetta Bell Johnson.
This is the time of year when everyone focuses on what is growing in their yard. We anxiously await the first beautiful blooms of spring and get ready to battle the weeds.
Marquetta’s quilt White Blossom is made from her luscious hand dyed fabrics so don’t run out to the quilt store looking for these exact fabrics. The flowers are appliqued and placed in a special vase that is embellished with beads. A pieced border completes the colorful bouquet.
To see more of Marquetta’s beautiful quilts using her hand dyed fabrics, visit the 2011 Atlanta Quilt Festival which will be held July 31 – August 13, 2011 at the South Fulton Arts Center, 4645 Butner Road, College Park, GA.
