Holly Anderson, Georgia’s only certified quilt appraiser, will conduct quilt appraisals at Hammonds House Museum Saturday. Appraisals are by appointment, and the cost is $45.00 each. To make your appointment, email O.V. Brantley at ovbrant@gmail.com or contact Hammonds House Museum.

This event is part of the activities of the 2011 Atlanta Quilt Festival. The quilt exhibit will remain at South Fulton Arts Center, 4645 Butner Road until August 13, 2011.  Exhibit hours are 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. daily. There is still time to go by and vote for your favorite quilt.

Holly Anderson,Georgia’s only APS certified quilt appraiser, will appraise quilts August 8, 2009, at Hammonds House Museum. Anderson is appearing at the museum as part of the Clara Ford Quilt Lecture series.

Anderson will present a free lecture entitled 200 Years of Quilts and Counting. The lecture will be followed by a continental breakfast reception.

After the reception,  Anderson will appraise quilts by appointment for the remainder of the afternoon. The fee for each quilt appraised is $40.00.

CFF Collaborates with Hammonds House on Lecture Series

CFF Final LogoThe Clara Ford Foundation will collaborate with the Hammonds House Museum on the creation of a quilt lecture series. The series is made possible by a grant from the Winthrop Rockefeller Foundation in Little Rock, Arkansas.

The inaugural lecture in the series will be presented by renowned quilt artist and author Dr. Carolyn Mazloomi on August 1, 2009 in Atlanta. Details will be announced later.

The second lecture in the series will be presented on August 8, 2009 by Holly Anderson, Georgia’s only certified  quilt appraiser. This lecture will be held at the Hammonds House Museum in Atlanta.
