Jackie Jackson-Harvey created Sister Joan as a tribute to her sister Joan who is battling kidney cancer. Quilt artist Lola Jenkins designed the portrait. Jackie set the portrait into a panel with one of Joan’s favorite poems Footprints in the Sand to create the 40 x 50 inch quilt.
Sister Joan was recently part of the 2011 Atlanta Quilt Festival held at the South Fulton Arts Center, 4645 Butner Road, College Park, GA. The 2012 Atlanta Quilt Festival opens July 29th.
